“It’s surprised me just how effective online learning can be”
Twinky and Arya’s story
Before joining MyEdSpace, Arya admits she didn’t revise very much and struggled at school, particularly with Maths.
In a bid to help her daughter, mum Twinky found extra tuition for Arya, including hiring a one-to-one tutor and taking her to group lessons. However, the practicalities of both proved difficult and when MyEdSpace’s Maths teacher Neil appeared in her social media feed, she stopped scrolling.
“I loved the way Neil explained things to kids. He made Maths fun, he was bubbly, and it felt like children could ask him anything without feeling uncomfortable,” she smiles.
Inspired, Twinky signed Arya up to do English, Science and Maths, and within a few lessons, her daughter was seeing the benefits, especially in the subject she struggled with most.

“Neil makes Maths very fun and easy, so I started liking it more – and then I started revising it,” Arya concedes. Before adding, “in school, not many people get involved, but on MyEdSpace everyone answers in the chat, so you feel more included.”
“The teachers make learning fun and accessible. It’s very different to school – they’re approachable, and children actually enjoy the lessons, ” adds Twinky.
As Arya’s enjoyment rose, so too did her confidence, and then, her grades. “Before, I was getting a grade 5 in Maths. Now I’m getting a 7,” beams Arya.
A crucial part of her progress, according to Arya, is the ability to go back and rewatch the lessons on-demand. “At school you might go over something once or twice, but on MyEdSpace you practise it a lot, which really helps – especially for exams,” she explains.

Mum Twinky agrees, “One of the biggest benefits is the flexibility. With MyEdSpace, Arya can learn from anywhere, and if she misses something, she can always go back and watch the recording.”
“She’s just had her first Year 10 mocks and she’s done amazingly well. That’s partly down to MyEdSpace and partly because she’s realised she needs to work harder – but MyEdSpace has definitely supported that.”
“It’s been a positive experience and it’s surprised me just how effective online learning can be.”
