Free GCSE Biology revision resources (AQA)
GCSE Biology is the study of life, covering everything from cells to ecosystems.
As part of our 2026 GCSE revision week, our expert Biology teachers, Laura Armstrong and Joe Wolfensohn, are opening up their collection of step-by-step video explanations, detailed revision notes and practice questions - in short, everything you need to walk into your GCSE Biology exam feeling full of confidence and ready to show off what you know.
Also, if you haven’t already signed up, it’s not too late to secure your place on our dedicated GCSE revision course this Easter. The first 25 hours are completely free.
The resources are split into seven modules, covering the full UK, AQA GCSE Biology curriculum:
-
Cell Biology
-
Organisation
-
Infection and response
-
Bioenergetics (photosynthesis and respiration)
-
Homeostasis and response
-
Inheritance, variation and evolution
-
Ecology
Each module is further broken down into topics and sub-topics.
For example, in Module 2 - Organisation, students will cover the principles of organisation, plant tissues, organs and organ systems, and animal tissues, organs and organ systems.
Each sub-topic details everything the student will need to know, plus simple explanations for key terms, finishing with a practice question. For example, for 3 marks, explain the difference between the right and left ventricle.
The correct answer can then be revealed (see below) so the student can both see where they stack up and note down anything they missed which the examiner would be awarding marks for.
-
The muscle wall of the left ventricle is thicker than the right
-
This increases the force of contraction and the pressure
-
To pump blood further around the body

While these notes are invaluable, this is just the start.
To give yourself the best possible chance of achieving an 8 or 9 in your GCSE Biology exams, we’d recommend you sign up now for our Year 11 GCSE Biology course.
Alongside high-quality resources like these, on the Year 11 Biology course you’ll enjoy two live 60-minute lessons with Laura Armstrong per week, where you’ll cover everything from the human endocrine system and hormones in human reproduction to biodiversity and cloning in animals.
You can see the benefits of signing up in the results our most recent cohort of students achieved last year.
-
Three times more MyEdSpace students achieved GCSE grade 9 than the national average
-
Over one-third of our students achieved GCSE grades 8 or 9 (35%), compared to just 12% nationally
