MyEdSpace is a place to learn with great teachers and other students. We want it to feel safe, friendly and fair for everyone.
This page explains the most important rules in simple words: what you can and can't do, what happens if a rule gets broken, and how to get help. There is a longer "grown-up" version too: your parent or carer can read the full Terms of Use.
1. Be kind. No bullying. No nasty, scary or threatening messages. No messages meant to upset someone. Treat people the way you'd like to be treated.
2. Keep it appropriate. Don't share anything rude, sexual, or violent. Don't share anything about hurting yourself or hurting other people. Don't share anything that breaks the law. If you wouldn't say it to a teacher, don't type it.
3. Keep your account yours. Don't share your password or let anyone else use your account. Don't share other people's private information, like phone numbers, addresses or photos.
4. The Study Aid is a computer, not a teacher. The Study Aid is helpful, but it's a computer and it can get things wrong, so always check important things with your teacher. It's checked for safety, and you must not try to trick it into giving you anything harmful.
If something worries you, upsets you, or doesn't feel right, please tell us. You won't be in trouble for asking for help.
Tell your teacher in a lesson.
Ask a grown-up at home to help you.
Email us at [email protected]. (A grown-up can help you send it. We check this inbox lots during the day and reply as soon as we can, but not in the middle of the night.)
If you feel unsafe or really upset, you can get help any time, day or night:
Childline: call 0800 1111 (free, and they won't tell you off). Or chat to them at childline.org.uk.
In an emergency, call 999.
We want to be fair. If something goes wrong, here's what usually happens:
We might remove a message that breaks the rules.
For something more serious, or if it keeps happening, we might stop an account from using live lesson chat, or the platform.
If a grown-up needs to know (like your parent, carer or school), we may tell them, to keep you safe.
Think we got it wrong? That's okay. You can ask us to check again. A different person will look at what happened, and if we made a mistake, we'll fix it.
A teacher or helper is in your lessons to keep the chat safe.
A computer safety filter helps block rude or harmful words in the chat.
We have safeguarding grown-ups whose whole job is to keep students safe.
Thanks for helping us keep MyEdSpace a kind and safe place to learn. 🚀
