"Maths stopped feeling impossible"
Judith and Amanda’s MyEdSpace story
For Judith, finding the right support for her daughter Amanda was about more than improving grades.
Like many parents, she wanted something that would keep her focused, motivated and engaged with learning outside of school.
After discovering MyEdSpace, what began as a search for an online course that would give her daughter a structure quickly became something that transformed Amanda’s confidence, particularly as she prepares for her Year 6 SATs.
Making learning consistent
Judith had been looking for something that could help keep her daughter focused and academically engaged.
“As a parent, you find it challenging trying to engage children with something meaningful so they don’t get distracted. I wanted something that would keep her focused with her studies.” she explains.
Judith came across MyEdSpace through social media and immediately felt drawn to the platform.
“I followed the link, asked questions and the MyEdSpace team were really helpful. You could easily get in touch through WhatsApp and get a response very quickly.”
“Before, I always had to keep telling her, ‘Read your books, read your books.’ But once she joined MyEdSpace, she had a timetable and knew exactly when she had lessons and what assignments she needed to do. It’s really been helpful”
Preparing for Year 6 SATs
As Amanda approaches her Key Stage 2 SATs, she insists that studying English, Maths, and Science with MyEdSpace has helped her feel more confident in class and more prepared for assessments, having already covered topics through MyEdSpace lessons.
“Once you learn from MyEdSpace, it helps you at school as well. We’re doing practice SATs tests at school next week and I feel confident,” Amanda beams.
Judith has seen the impact too, particularly in Amanda’s confidence and ability to tackle challenges independently.
“She tells me there are things she used to find difficult, but now when she sees them at school, she understands them straight away.”
The breakthrough moment with Maths
Maths had previously been Amanda’s most difficult subject.
“I found Maths really challenging sometimes,” she explains.
But one topic in particular became a turning point.
“I found algebra really hard. But after MyEdSpace taught me it, I really found it easy. I’ve now moved to the upper level in my class for Maths.”
For Judith, this was the moment she truly realised how much progress Amanda was making.
“She’s really, really improved in mathematics. Any challenge they give her at school now, she solves it.”
Online learning that’s engaging and interactive
Amanda particularly enjoys the atmosphere of the lessons and the way teachers keep students involved.
“My first MyEdSpace lesson was English and I really had fun learning. I also like Lajoy because she’s really kind, and after every Science lessons she does Kahoot quizzes.”
Judith has noticed the same level of engagement from the teachers.
“They ask questions, respond to students and help solve challenges. The teachers are really doing well. I would encourage parents who are struggling with keeping their children focused with studies. MyEdSpace will really help because it keeps the kids engaged and focused".
