Every school year builds on what came before. The confidence a child finds in a subject, the habits they pick up, the sets they're placed in - it all carries forward. But, research has shown most kids lose the equivalent of two months' progress over summer. In those long, lazy days between July and September, momentum is lost and people quietly slip behind.
