Free A-level Chemistry revision resources
A-level Chemistry steps up the study of physical, organic and inorganic chemistry from GCSE and covers everything from atomic structure and molecules to thermodynamics and optical isomerism.
As part of our 2026 A-level revision week, our expert Chemistry teachers, Lajoy Tucker, Dr Davinder Bhachu, and Manny Opuko, are opening up their collection of step-by-step video explanations, detailed revision notes and practice questions - in short, everything you need to walk into your A-level Chemistry exam feeling full of confidence and ready to show off what you know.
The resources are split into eight modules, covering the full UK, AQA A-level Chemistry curriculum:
-
Physical Chemistry
-
Advanced Physical Chemistry
-
Inorganic Chemistry
-
Advanced Inorganic Chemistry
-
Organic Chemistry

Each module is then broken down into topics, and sub-topics. For example in the module on Alkanes, Lajoy and Manny cover; the modification of alkanes by cracking, the combustion of alkanes, the chlorination of alkanes and fractional distillation of crude oil.
As a taster, here’s Lajoy explaining the modification of alkanes by cracking in just five minutes.
After an in-depth review of the definitions and basic principles, you’ll discover the differences between thermal cracking and catalytic cracking and why cracking is important.
Finally, there’s three A-level practice questions, complete with model answers. The first, asks students to decide which product is more likely formed in catalytic cracking, from four choices*;
A. Ethene
B. Propene
C. Benzene
D. Dodecane
While these notes are invaluable, this is just the start.
To give yourself the best possible chance of achieving an A or A* in your A-level Chemistry exams, we’d recommend you sign up now for our Year 13 A-level Chemistry course.
Alongside high-quality resources like these, on the Year 13 A-level Chemistry course you’ll enjoy two live 60-minute lessons with Lajoy, Dav or Manny per week, where you’ll cover everything from percentage atom economy and standard electrode potentials to optical isomerism.
You can see the benefits of signing up in the results our most recent cohort of students achieved last year.
-
Almost three-quarters of our A-level students achieved B or above (73%), nationally it was slightly over half (55%)
-
Almost twice as many of our A-level Biology students achieved A or A* (45%), compared to non-MyEdSpace students (28%)
-
Over half of our A-level students have been admitted into Russell Groups universities (56%) compared to only 27% across the UK
CTA - With results like those, it’s a no-brainer to sign up and get started ASAP.
