Using your calculator
Watch this video below showing you how to use your calculator to square numbers, change numbers from fractions into decimals and how to enter standard form.
Your calculator is your biggest saviour in these exams. Ensure you purchase a scientific calculator for your Physics exam and practise using it regularly.
We recommend buying either the Casio FX-83GTCW Scientific Calculator or the Casio FX-85GTCW Scientific Calculator, which are around 15 pounds.
Buy a good scientific calculator and protect it with your life! Remember, in your exam, you can not have a graphing calculator, only a scientific one, and you need to remove the case from the calculator before entering the exam hall. Worst-case scenario, you forget your calculator on the day of your exam. The invigilators will provide you with one, but take care, as it may not be a brand or style you are used to, and you will then struggle in your exam.
